Introduction

This guide is written to help you install a dedicated server on a windows system.

Requirements

Open a command prompt (by clicking start, then run, then typing in cmd and clicking ok)
Navigate to C:\ by typing:
```
cd \
```
Create a new directory by typing the following command:
```
mkdir hlds_l
```
Move to this directory by typing the following:
```
cd hlds_l
```
Download this file and place it in the directory you created above
Now run this file by typing:
```
hldsupdatetool
```
You should receive a response such as:
```
Checking bootstrapper version ...
```
Start the installation (Note: to install condition zero change cstrike to czero and to install Day of Defeat change cstrike to dod):
```
hldsupdatetool -command update -game cstrike -dir .
```
After this command you should see a message like:
```
No installation record found at hlds_l
```

To start your server type:

hlds_run -game cstrike +map de_dust -autoupdate
